Pink Nailed the National Anthem — Even With the Flu!

The flu is no match for international superstar Pink, who took on Super Bowl LII's national anthem performance and absolutely killed it.

This year's flu season has been kicking butts and taking names — and not even Super Bowl LII national anthem performer Pink is safe.

Known for never backing away from a challenge, the three-time Grammy winner and latest flu victim took over the Minneapolis venue stage and — to no one's surprise — knocked it out of the park, er, stadium.

"I've been waiting to sing this song since 1991, when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song," the international superstar shared on her Instagram one day before the performance. "And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough into my mouth and rub their snot on my cheek,"she added, referring to 6-year-old daughter Willow and 1-year-old son Jameson.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), this year's flu is the most widespread the institution has seen in its 13 years of tracking the disease. Each year finds a different strand floating around, but for the 2017-18 season, H3N2 is making the rounds.

"This is the first year we had the entire continental U.S. be the same color on the graph, meaning there's widespread activity in all of the continental U.S. at this point," said CDC Influenza Division Director Dr. Dan Jernigan.

For her part, Pink made sure to give her little ones an Instagram shoutout, even though they added a little hiccup into mommy's performance. Affectionately referring to them as "little gremlins," she challenged them to cough at her "for the rest of their lives."

It's not the first time she's publicly showed love for her kids. While accepting her Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, Pink carved some time out of her acceptance speech to send her daughter a message about self-love. "We take the gravel in the shell and make a pearl. We help other people to change, so they can see all kinds of beauty…. And you, my darling girl, are beautiful, and I love you," she said.

And we love you, Pink!
