Luke Perry Is the AARP Cover Boy at Age 50 (But Dylan's Still Got It!)
AARP magazine celebrates 90210 star Luke Perry's 50th birthday, showing him aging gracefully and embracing aging,
Forget Edward vs. Jacob or Peeta vs. Gale. If you're between the ages of 30 and 40, you were probably torn between Dylan and Brandon. Still trying to make up your mind? We're happy to report that 16 years after "Beverly Hills, 90210" went off the air, Luke Perry, aka Dylan McKay, is still pretty darn crushable.
On a special cover created by the aging experts at AARP magazine — that's the American Association of RETIRED Persons — Perry appears relaxed, bearded and at ease with the crows'-feet surely embedded from years of salt, sand, sun and surfing in Baja with Brenda.
"Welcome to 902-5-oh!" the organization proclaimed. Perry celebrated his 50th birthday on October 11, and he seems to be moving into his older years with grace, even if his getting older makes the rest of us feel positively ancient in the process.
Perry is returning to the small screen playing not the heartthrob, but the dad in the CW series "Riverdale," and he told E! News that a "90210" reunion is not out of the question. "I love those guys, you know I'd be down," he said.
Perry is not the only one of his '90s co-stars aging with grace. Gabrielle Carteris, who played studious Andrea Zuckerman on the show, is currently the president of actors union SAG-AFTRA.
And, on a serious note, Shannen Dougherty has been teaching us all a lesson in how to handle being dealt a tough hand with her brave approach to chemo during her recent treatment for breast cancer.
