Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty shaved her head in her battle with breast cancer and posted images of her haircut to Instagram.

Doherty, who went public with the news of her illness in August 2015, alerted fans that there would be news when she first posted a photograph along with the message, "Cupcake pan, chocolates and a razor.... Stay tuned. @annemkortright has got this. #cancersucks #thankgodforfriends."

Doherty's illness first came to light when celebrity news site TMZ.com posted details of her lawsuit against her former business manager. In the legal filing, Doherty claimed the firm Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson was responsible for her illness because it allowed her health insurance to lapse, and the actress had to wait until 2015 to re-enroll.

In the interim, TMZ reported, Doherty did not go for her usual checkups, and the "invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node" was later found. The firm denied responsibility and vowed to fight the suit's claims, according to People.com.
