It is meant for people who cannot eat or get enough nutrition by mouth. A tube feeding formula is a special liquid used to provide calories, carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. A high-protein tube feeding formula may be necessary if you have pressure ulcers, recent surgery or a disease state that requires higher protein needs. Your doctor can help you determine the best formula for you.

Isosource HN

Isosource HN is a high protein standard G-tube feeding formula made by Nestle Nutrition. It is best suited for individuals with normal digestion and higher protein needs. Each 250 mL can contains 300 calories, 13.4 g of protein, 9.8 g of total fat, 39.9 g of carbohydrates and 282 mg of sodium.

Promote

Promote is a very high protein tube feeding formula designed for people who have high protein needs but low calorie needs. Promote is a G-tube formula made by Abbot Nutrition. A 237 mL can of Promote contains 237 calories, 14.8 g of protein, 6.2 g of total fat, 30.8 g of carbohydrates and 240 mg of sodium.

Nutren Replete

Nutren Replete, made by Nestle Nutrition, is another high-protein G-tube feeding formula. It is designed to promote wound healing in people recovering from surgery and those with pressure ulcers or wounds. In addition to being high in protein, it is also higher in vitamins and minerals. A 250 mL can of Nutren Replete contains 300 calories, 15.6 g of protein, 8.5 g of total fat, 28.3 g of carbohydrates and 219 mg of sodium.

Pivot 1.5

Pivot 1.5 is high in both protein and calories, and is designed for those who are metabolically stressed and immune-compromised. It is also used to promote wound healing in people with pressure ulcers, burns and recent surgery. A 237 mL can of Pivot 1.5 contains 356 calories, 22.2 g of protein, 12 g of total fat, 40.9 g of carbohydrates and 330 mg of sodium. Abbott Nutrition makes Pivot 1.5.

Peptamen AF

Peptamen AF is another high-protein G-tube feeding formula made by Nestle Nutrition. In addition to being high in protein, it also contains omega-3 fatty acids, prebiotic fiber and easy-to-digest proteins, and is recommended for people under extreme stress. A 250 mL can contains 300 calories, 18.9 g of protein, 13.7 g of total fat, 26.7 g of carbohydrates and 200 mg of sodium.
