The long thoracic nerve is a branch of the cervical or neck nerves that supplies the chest wall muscles known as serratus anterior. The long thoracic nerve and serratus anterior muscle are responsible for forward arm movement like a boxing punch or working your arms overhead.

Pulmonary embolism is a common disease and in some cases is life threatening. Emboli are usually blood clots that begin in the deep leg veins. Some blood clots break off the wall of veins and quickly lodge in the lung vessels.
