Metoprolol is a commonly prescribed medication used to treat high blood pressure and a heart disease called angina, which causes chest pain. It may also be prescribed to prevent migraine headaches. Metoprolol works by slowing the heart rate and dilating blood vessels.

Effects of Lasix on Congestive Heart Failure

In congestive heart failure, a chronic condition which requires lifetime management, the blood vessels, lungs and other organs become overloaded with fluid. While a healthy heart pumps blood efficiently through vessels and organs, in CHF the heart’s pumping ability is weak.
