Rihanna's Perfect Response to Fat Shamers

Following last week’s ridiculous fat shaming of the singer by a blogger at Barstool Sports, Rihanna responded in the best way ever: via hilarious meme.

As if we didn't already have enough reasons to call Rihanna a badass! Following last week's ridiculous fat shaming of the singer by a blogger at Barstool Sports, Rihanna responded in the best way ever: taking to social media to clap back via a hilarious meme.

Said meme, which made an appearance on Instagram this past Monday, is made of two pictures of a fuller and smaller Gucci Mane from 2007 and 2017 placed side by side. The text that accompanies it reads: "If you can't handle me at my 2007 Gucci Mane, you don't deserve me at my 2017 Gucci Mane." Yup, that about says it.

While the singer is definitely expressing her usual "I don't care what you think" attitude about the whole debacle, it's obvious by her single-emoji-with-a-tear caption that the pop star doesn't appreciate being trolled about her physical appearance. Like anyone else, she's not impervious to name-calling.

People reports the article that started this whole thing has been taken down following the backlash. "Barstool Sports' founder David Portnoy decided to take down the article and suspend Sprags [the writer] indefinitely, but said in a statement that he made the decision because Sprags' post wasn't funny enough."

Sure.

On the other hand, Rihanna's poignant response definitely is. Not only is it a metaphorical flipping of the bird but it also reminds us that everybody, Rihanna and Gucci Mane included, can have fluctuations in their weight and fitness levels over their lifetime — and that's just human.

Thanks for the lesson, RiRi!
