Keep the muscles around the mouth and lips toned and looking youthful by performing mouth exercises on a daily basis. Facial exercise may help to reduce or slow the appearance of wrinkles around the upper lip and decrease the depth of nasolabial folds that extend from the base of the nose down along the side of the mouth toward the chin. Mouth exercises may also keep the cheeks toned and firm the jaw line and chin.

Lip and Mouth Firming

Stand in front of a mirror so you can see the muscles around the mouth working with these exercises. These exercises won't increase wrinkles around the mouth, but they will help firm and tone the mouth muscles. Pucker your lips like you're drinking out of a straw, suggests the Kennedy Disease organization. Blow air through the straw and puff out the cheeks for 10 seconds. You can do this exercise 10 to 20 times in the morning and the evening.

Ooooo and Eeeeee

Work the muscles around the mouth quickly and effectively. Start by pursing your lips, as if you're getting ready to plant an exaggerated kiss on someone. Simultaneously, say "oooooo." Then smile really big, like you're trying to touch the corners of your lips to your ears, and say "eeee," suggests the Kennedy Disease organization. Do this exercise routine 10 times fairly quickly, two to three times a day. You'll really feel this one around the lips.

Nose Touch

Pucker your lips, and try to lift them upward toward the tip of your nose, suggests Ageless. Of course, you won't be able to do this, but hold the contraction for about five seconds and then release. Repeat this exercise 5 to 10 times several times a day for plumper lips and more toned mouth muscles.

Say Cheese

Sit comfortably with the lips closed but not tight. Your upper and lower teeth should be touching. Smile as wide as you can without separating the lips and hold that contraction for about 5 seconds, suggests Ageless. As you release the contraction, purse the lips like you're preparing to kiss someone. Hold that pucker for another 5 seconds, and then release. You can repeat this exercise about 10 times several times a day for beneficial results.

Lip Suck

Slightly purse the lips into a gentle kissing position, and then try to wrap your lips toward the inside of your mouth, curling them under the teeth, suggests Ageless. This exercise will take practice until you become more coordinated. Hold the contraction with the lips covering the teeth for about five seconds, and then release. Repeat this exercise about 5 to 10 times.
