Apple cider vinegar has long been touted as a natural remedy for digestive issues. Despite an abundance of anecdotal and historical evidence, no formal research has actually been conducted to evaluate its effectiveness in treating constipation. Therefore, no conclusive dosage can be recommended.

Safely Taking Apple Cider Vinegar

Proponents say that apple cider vinegar can help stimulate a bowel movement when taken diluted in water and consumed as a beverage. The benefit of this is twofold since inadequate fluid intake is often an underlying cause of constipation. Sweetener can be added if desired, and warm water may also help stimulate a bowel movement.

However, if you have chronic constipation, or constipation lasting more than a few days, you should see your doctor.
