Symptoms of a Broken Nose
One of the first symptoms might be pain or tenderness. Next, look for blood and then bruising. One or both eyes maybe black and blue. Look for a mark on the nose where the toddler may have bumped into something or been hit by something. Also, the toddler may have difficulty breathing through the nose due to swelling.
Breathing With a Broken Nose
The child may have a deviated septum or crooked nose after a break that may cause breathing problems. Consult a physician if breathing is compromised.
Signs of a Broken Nose
First the toddler may cry from pain. Next, they may have a bloody nose. Then bruising sets in within 24 hours where the injury occurred--one or both eyes may become bruised as well. Sometimes no bruising is noticeable. Observe breathing changes. Call a physician if any breathing changes are noticed.
