Coconut oil is an all natural beauty multitasker. Found on any grocery store shelf this versatile oil, commonly used in healthy cooking, can also be incorporated into a chemical free skincare regimen thanks to its moisturizing, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Streamline your beauty routine, curb beauty product clutter, reduce exposure to harmful chemicals and get gorgeous, dewy skin with this great smelling, do-it-all oil.

Step 1

Cleanse your face with coconut oil. It contains antibacterial and antifungal properties that may also be beneficial for atopic dermatitis. To cleanse, rub the oil into your face and neck with your fingers in a circular motion. Leave on for added moisturizing throughout the evening and wash off residual oil with your usual facial cleanser in the morning.

Step 2

Skip store-bought products and exfoliate with an equally effective, homemade facial scrub. Melt a few tablespoons of coconut oil at low heat and mix with an equal amount of salt or sugar. Finish with a few drops of vanilla or your favorite essential oil for a delicious smelling scrub that's 100 percent natural.

Step 3

Use coconut oil in place of night cream for dry skin; it helps increase hydration and reduce water loss. High in vitamin E, coconut oil helps protect skin while the fatty acids in the oil can strengthen the skin's barrier to lock in moisture.

Step 4

Swap out your eye cream for oil. Use the incredibly hydrating coconut oil around the delicate eye area, which is especially prone to developing lines and wrinkles.

Step 5

Soothe chapped lips with coconut oil. Rub the oil onto your lips to help hydrate and keep moisture in, and it tastes good to boot!

Step 6

Get glowing. Use coconut oil over make up as a natural highlighter. Used as a base in several natural makeup brands, the oil reflects light and imparts a healthy-looking glow when swept on cheekbones, brow bones and down the center of the nose.

Step 7

Take it all off: makeup, that is. Antibacterial coconut oil gently and easily removes makeup, including waterproof eye makeup. Sweep a coconut oil-soaked cotton pad over eyes to help break down highly-pigmented mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow, while adding much needed moisture to the eye area. Rinse your face to remove remaining dirt and oil.

Tip

Choose organic coconut oil to ensure your skin isn't absorbing any pesticides or other toxins.
