How to Treat Skin Sensitivity Associated With Fever

Step 1
Take the recommended dose of Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen to help treat the fever.
Step 2
Use cold compresses if you feel hot. Prepare a cold compress by putting ice into a plastic bag and tying a knot in the top. Wrap in a towel and place it on the affected area for four to five minutes and rotate to different areas as needed.
Step 3
Mix rubbing alcohol with water at a one to one ratio and sponge or rub the mixture onto the skin. The alcohol helps to draw out the impurities that caused the fever originally as well as treating the nerve irritation causing the skin sensitivity.
Step 4
Get as much rest as possible while the fever is running its course.
