Many people think their hairline is something they can never change and that unless they go bald, they'll be stuck with it forever. However, you can completely change how your hairline looks by utilizing laser hair removal. This procedure is fairly non-invasive and carries a brief recovery period, which means you can go back to your normal life and debut a new hairline in just a matter of weeks.

Step 1

Find and select a dermatologist who is certified in laser hair removal. You should request references of any doctor you're considering and view before and after photos of patients with cases similar to yours. When considering doctors, ask about the cost of treatment and the years of experience he or she has in reshaping hairlines.

Step 2

Meet with your doctor to discuss your procedure face-to-face. Be sure to write down and bring with you a list of any questions you have about the treatment so you'll be prepared at your meeting. Request a step-by-step breakdown of what your procedure entails, how long recovery will be, what the procedure will feel like, etc.

Step 3

Don't try to remove any hair from your hairline yourself prior to your treatment. Any tweezing, shaving or waxing should be halted between six and eight weeks before the procedure to ensure it will be as effective as possible.

Step 4

Be prepared for your treatment. Know what your day's schedule looks like before and after your treatment. Though you can usually return to work the same day or the next day at the latest, you may still be rather uncomfortable following the procedure. Laser hair removal can feel like several snapping pops against your hairline and though unpleasant, it's tolerable. Usually, a topical cream will be applied to your skin to prevent irritation and to soothe any pain caused by the procedure.

Step 5

Wipe away tiny hairs that come in at your hairline over the next several weeks. These hairs are loosely rooted and will be easy to wash away with a washcloth. Maintaining this course of treatment and following any aftercare your doctor recommends should result in an entirely new hairline shortly.
