Calories in a Cosmopolitan Drink

It's tempting to order a cosmopolitan cocktail at a party, a bar or while catching the sun's rays on a restaurant patio.

It's tempting to order a cosmopolitan cocktail at a party, a bar or while catching the sun's rays on a restaurant patio. Served straight up, this colorful, reddish-pink drink made of vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec and lime juice might be refreshing, but it's also a quick way to increase your caloric intake for the day, especially if you enjoy more than one.

Say "Cheers," but Watch Your Calories

A cosmopolitan drink that measures 2.75 fluid ounces contains about 146 calories, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism's Rethinking Drinking website. This caloric content is similar to alcoholic beverages such as extra dry martinis and mojitos, but less than margaritas and Manhattans. Per serving size, cosmopolitans contain slightly less calories than regular beer, but nearly 50 calories more than light beer.
