There's no need to go under the knife -- or fork over the money -- for eye-wrinkle treatments. You may have thought about a brow lift, chemical peels, laser treatments or fillers if you're wrestling with crow's feet, but there are plenty of natural options you can try first.

There's no need to go under the knife -- or fork over the money -- for eye-wrinkle treatments. You may have thought about a brow lift, chemical peels, laser treatments or fillers if you're wrestling with crow's feet, but there are plenty of natural options you can try first. Change some of your less-desirable lifestyle habits, make an effort to eat foods rich in antioxidants and make sure to cleanse and moisturize your skin with the proper hydrating ingredients. After doing so, you just may see a reduction in eye wrinkles the natural way.

Make a Mask

According to "Passport to Beauty" author Shalini Vadhera, "White tea creates an environmental protection shield to any type of damaging free radicals that can prematurely age the skin." She recommends mixing together green-tea powder, brewed white tea and lemon to create a mask-like consistency. The teas work as a powerful skin antioxidant, while the lemon helps fade dark spots and brighten the skin around your eyes. Dip the back of a spoon in the mixture and spread it around the eye area or over your entire face. Wait 5 minutes, rinse with warm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel. Do this twice a week and you should see an improvement in crow's feet and your overall complexion.

Look at Your Lifestyle

Sunscreen is known to be one of the best defenses against aging. Apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 and either zinc or titanium oxide everyday, and make sure to cover the entire eye area. Or purchase a moisturizer with a built-in sunscreen. Try to kick bad habits, such as smoking, and reduce alcohol intake. These things take away oxygen and nutrients from your body, dehydrate your skin and increase the number of free radicals in your body's cells.

Make Nutrition Count

Eat foods rich in vitamin D, such as milk, eggs and cheese, and omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon and tuna. Foods filled with vitamin A, such as sweet potatoes, spinach, carrots and beef liver, can also reduce the severity of wrinkles. These foods help plump up the thin skin around the eye area, reducing the appearance of crow's feet, fine lines and wrinkles. Drink plenty of water and green tea to keep your skin hydrated and increase your skin-cell turnover. Make a fruit and vegetable smoothie for breakfast as a quick way to get these vitamins into your system.

Keep Up Your Skin-care Routine

Supple skin starts with clean, unclogged pores. Wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser featuring moisturizing ingredients such as ceramides, aloe, olive oil, almond oil, shea butter and honey. Look for a moisturizer with alpha-hydroxy acids and sugars because these can cause the skin to swell a bit so that wrinkles are less noticeable. In addition, apply serum retinol -- a vitamin-A derivative that helps boost collagen and speed up cell turnover -- to your face daily. Make sure to pat and gently smooth moisturizers and serums near the eye area so you don't stretch the skin. With consistent use, you should notice a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles in between eight and 24 weeks.
