How to Make a Grey Goose Martini

While traditional martinis contain gin, vermouth, orange bitters and an olive, vodka has become a favorite substitute and offers a wide variation of flavored martinis. While traditional martinis contain gin, vermouth, orange bitters and an olive, vodka has become a favorite substitute and offers a wide variation of flavored martinis. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda often sipped a Grey Goose Cosmopolitan as they discussed their dates on "Sex and the City." Grey Goose is a high-end brand of vodka produced in Cognac, France, made with French wheat. Distillation is done in five steps that include filtering spring water through Champagne limestone. This brand also comes in pear, orange and lemon flavors.

Chill martini glasses in the freezer. Fill a cocktail mixer with ice. Have all your ingredients on hand. Slide the olives onto olive picks to garnish your martini.

Step 2

Make a classic Grey Goose martini. Add 1 part dry vermouth to coat the ice in your cocktail shaker. Shake and drain out the excess. Add 4 parts vodka and a couple of dashes of orange bitters. Pick up the cocktail shaker and roll it between your hands for about 90 seconds. Do not shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. You will see chilled crystals on the top. Garnish with an olive.

Step 3

Make a Grey Goose L'Orange Cosmopolitan. Juice 1/2 lime into your ice-filled cocktail shaker. Add 3 parts Grey Goose L'Orange flavored vodka and 1 part orange liqueur. Add just a touch of cranberry juice to tint the vodka a pale pink. Shake the cocktail and strain into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with an orange peel or a slice of lemon.

Step 4

Make a Lemon Drop with Grey Goose Le Citron flavored vodka. Rub a slice of lemon around a chilled martini glass rim and coat with sugar. Add 2 parts Grey Goose Le Citron vodka, 3/4 part orange liqueuer and 1/2 part simple syrup, which is an equal mixture of sugar and water. Shake thoroughly and strain into the martini glass. Squeeze a bit of lemon and add to the glass.

Tip

Use only cocktail shakers made of either stainless steel or glass.

Experiment with garnishes. Add a twist of lemon, lime or orange. Add a bay leaf or a maraschino cherry.
