Unless you eat eggs as part of a large meal right before bed, they aren't likely to keep you awake at night. In fact, eating eggs at night may actually help you sleep better, according to an article published on the "Daily Mail" website.

Eggs and Sleep

Unless you get indigestion when you eat before bed, eggs combined with a carbohydrate-rich food may be a good bedtime snack. Eggs are one of the better sources of the amino acid tryptophan, which your body can use to make melatonin and serotonin. Both of these amino acids help bring on sleep by limiting the amount of nerve traffic in your brain. Eating a food high in carbs along with a source of tryptophan helps get rid of the other amino acids in your blood that compete for absorption with tryptophan because carbs increase your insulin levels. Without the carbohydrates to do this, you may absorb more of the amino acid tyrosine, which has the opposite effect of serotonin and melatonin, helping to keep you awake.
