Overview

While McDonald's is originally an American chain — and America is often recognized for its obesity epidemic — some of the chain's most gut-busting bites are actually being consumed outside the United States. Real talk: It's McDonald's world, and we're just living in it. Wondering what your fellow dieters on the other side of the world are struggling to saying no to? We've got you covered. Check out the most over-the-top, calorie-riddled, cheese-covered diet busters of McDonald's International.

1. Chili Cheese Bites, Sweden

Sweden always rates among the happiest countries to live every year. However, we doubt these fried balls of molten chili cheese have anything to do with it.

2. Gracoro Burger, Japan

If you've ever found yourself torn between a shrimp and macaroni craving, Japan's Gracoro Burger fuses the two together, covers it in breadcrumbs, and deep fries it so you don't have to decide (but still can feel bad about yourself after).

3. Poutine, Canada

Canadian McDonald's serves the country's national dish: poutine. What's poutine you ask? A pile of french fries made even more unhealthy by covering it in gravy and cheese curds.

4. Chicken Cheese Box, Austria

Austria might be the home of Wiener Schnitzel, but it's also the land of the chicken cheese box. It's a box full of deep-fried balls of Emmental cheese stars (why stars?) alongside the standard deep fried nuggets.

5. BBQ Chili Cheese Fries, Germany

A rival to Canada's calorie-packed poutine, Germany's BBQ sauce and chili drenched cheese fries are definitely enough to knock you out, inducing a major food coma.

6. Sweety Con Nutella, Italy

One of McDonald's newest diet-crushing creations: Italy's Sweety con Nutella. A sweet bun jam-packed with thick Nutella — aka "kryptonite" for die-hard Nutella fans.

7. Mega McGriddle, Japan

If you didn't think the regular old McGriddle was over the top enough, in Japan you can find the monstrous Mega McGriddle. A creation two times the size with double the meat and double cheese.

8. Mega Mac, South Korea

If there was ever a hamburger to tempt even the staunchest of dieters, it's the Mega Mac. While it may seem like a fever-dream, this excessive creation of two Big Macs — i.e., four patties total — stacked together is very real in South Korea.

9. Chicken Mega Mac, Saudi Arabia

Basically the same thing as the Mega Mac but with chicken, the Chicken Mega Mac houses four fried chicken patties on sesame seed-studded buns.

10. Big Breakfast with Hotcakes, USA

The unofficial American battle cry of "go big or go home" perfectly sums up the Big Breakfast at American McDonald's. The combo comes with a stack of pancakes, biscuits, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sausages.

12. Cheddar Cheese Nuggets, Germany

If chicken nuggets weren't already bad enough by being deep fried, they certainly are now that they've added cheese to the mix to make Germany's cheddar cheese nuggets.
