How to Cook Frozen Corn Dogs

A corn dog can be a carnival treat, or a quick and easy at-home snack, but sometimes you want to heat up the breaded sausages without imparting extra fat. Frozen corndogs are available in most major supermarkets, and can be cooked at home in just a few minutes.

A corn dog can be a carnival treat, or a quick and easy at-home snack, but sometimes you want to heat up the breaded sausages without imparting extra fat. Frozen corndogs are available in most major supermarkets, and can be cooked at home in just a few minutes. Bake or microwave frozen corn dogs for a healthier take on the deep-fried favorite.

Baking Corn Dogs

Preheat the oven to the temperature recommended on the package of corn dogs. Most cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, but individual brands of corn dogs may vary slightly.

Remove the wrapping from each corn dog, then place the dogs on a lightly greased baking sheet. Leave a little space between each corn dog to allow for even cooking and to produce a crispy exterior.

Place the pan in the oven and allow the corn dogs to cook for the time listed on the package. Most corn dogs will be fully cooked in 15 to 18 minutes. Remove the corn dogs from the oven and serve immediately.

Microwaved Corn Dogs

Unwrap your corn dog and place it on a microwave-safe plate. Transfer the plate to the microwave, and cover it with a paper towel. If preparing corn dogs for a large group, you might need to heat them in batches.

Set the microwave for 50 seconds and press the start button. Remove the plate from the microwave, flip the corn dogs over and cook for an additional 30 seconds.

Remove the dogs from the microwave. If any dogs are still cold in the middle, return them to the microwave and cook in 20 second increments until they are hot.
