It's the weekend, and all you want to do is lounge in bed with your significant other. And we don't blame you; dealing with restaurant crowds can leave you feeling hangry. So stay in and make a healthy homemade brunch instead! You can prepare these brunch recipes together. Or, if you really want to lavish your mate with love, surprise him or her with a romantic breakfast in bed. From heart-shaped pizza to cocoa-dusted French toast, these brunch items are guaranteed to win over anyone's heart.

1. Heart-Shaped Florentine Pizza With Eggs

If you had to pick one food that creates a big grin on nearly any face, pizza would be it! You'll start with thawed whole-grain or multigrain pizza dough and dress it with baby spinach and part-skim mozzarella. After baking, top the pie with fresh parsley and fried eggs for extra protein. But don't forget one little step: Right before you bake the pie, you'll shape it into a heart.

2. Spicy Potato, Red Pepper and Chicken Sausage Skillet for Two

If you and your loved one are cooking together, make this recipe. The slicing and dicing is definitely much faster and more fun when you tackle it as a couple. You'll also enjoy serving this dish straight from the skillet. It tastes a little spicy from red-hot chili pepper, a little sweet from sweet red bell pepper and very savory from organic chicken sausage (or, if you prefer, pick vegan sausage) and baby potatoes (choose tricolor for eye appeal). And if you're both into fitness, you'll love that this recipe is rich in good carbs. Carbohydrates are the foundation of a performance diet, after all!

3. Cocoa-Dusted French Toast With Raspberry Smash and Whipped Cream

Here's a dreamy recipe that'll satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth. The French toasts are made from thick slices of whole-grain bread. They're topped with a sprinkle of cocoa powder, a spoonful of naturally sweetened smashed raspberries and a dollop of homemade whipped cream. But don't be fooled by the decadent sound of these toasts; they're full of vitamin C from the raspberries and fiber from the whole-grain bread.

4. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches With Avocado, Arugula and Fried Egg

If you and your partner can't quite decide what to eat, try this recipe. You'll get a fried egg, a lemony arugula salad and a grilled mozzarella cheese sandwich all in one dish. Bonus: You'll also add creamy, sliced avocados to the sandwich. And that's a good thing because avocados are packed with potassium and eye-friendly lutein and zeaxanthin. Serve these as open-faced sandwiches for two.

5. Strawberries and Rose Skyr Sundae

You and your significant other will love waking up to this beautifully layered parfait. First, use skyr instead of Greek yogurt for less tartness. Don't forget the few drops of rose water; it'll truly make the skyr taste flowery! Next, don't be shy with the slivered almonds; they contain plenty of healthy fats, fiber and protein. To serve, layer the ingredients in a pilsner glass and top with a whole strawberry.
