Things You'll Need

Tretinoin cream

Under-eye exfoliating cream

Sunscreen lotion

Step 1

Gently Exfoliate

Apply a high-quality under-eye exfoliating cream such as Bioelements Eye Area Exfoliating Eye Cream or Natura Bisse Glyco Eye Hidro-Exfoliating Eye Cream. These creams work by shedding off the surface layer of dead skin cells.

During the exfoliating process, dead skin cells under your eyes are replaced by new cells. This allows the growth of new skin collagen. You can buy under-eye exfoliating creams at your local pharmacy. Make sure to follow the directions in the package before applying.

Step 2

Use Tretinoin Cream

Apply tretinoin (Retin-A) cream under your eyes. This medication, when applied as directed, can increase collagen thickness over time. Consult your physician or dermatologist for more information about this medication.

Step 3

Check Your Diet

Eat foods that are high in ascorbic acid (vitamin C) on a daily basis. Ascorbic acid is vital in collagen production in your tissues. Your body breaks down collagen every day.

Getting enough ascorbic acid will help your body maintain the production of collagen. Sources of foods rich in ascorbic acid include citrus fruits, kiwi fruit and bell peppers. You can also take one 500 mg ascorbic acid tablet daily along with these foods.

Step 4

Wear Sunscreen

Apply sunscreen under your eyes every day when applying the aforementioned methods. Applying sunscreen lotion under your eyes will help prevent fine lines, wrinkles and skin discolorations. Purchase sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 and above and apply one hour before heading outdoors.
